With American's collective attention span reaching perhaps 1-2 hours max, they just can't get into a good game of chess that may drag out for days or even weeks and months........They opt more for the games that are over in 15-20 mins. like war(games) ;-) besides, ther's not enough room on a chess board for those M1A1/2 tanks it's just not feasible to use them as your knights
