Why not??

Why not??

Only Chess

Instead of having "LIVE CHESS" why not have TIME OUT starting from zero to what ever is at the moment and TIME BANK can stay the same??.I'm83 years old and I'm home 95% of the time.Some players makes the move 1 hrs or 2hrs before time out at least you have a choice.On live chess,hardly enyone and those that are,most want to play5to 10 minutes timeout.

Why don't you simplify things, and enter a few more correspondence sections? You only have 3 active games right now. This will give you the option to play whenever you wish.

@mchill; It"s simple,I like to play games under 24 hrs. per move,why can't I ??.

Because this is correspondence chess. If you want shorter time control, there are many other sites that offer this.

Have you considered tournaments?

I have never done one of these HARDCORE tournaments, but I believe the time controls are set so that you do not have a timeout period at all to make moves.
All you have is a number of days in your timebank, which depletes every time it is your turn to move. It does not reset, so when either player uses up all of their time, they will loose on a time penalty.

Under those time controls I would suspect that you would need to move frequently and pay attention, and try to win before you run out of time.

Plus you would be playing in a tournament group so you would have several opponents and games in progress at one time, which would be enough to keep you busy!

Anyway, I think that's how the HARDCORE tournaments work, but have not tried one, so hopefully someone will correct me if I have it wrong.
