Why resign this game

A game were my opponent resigned for no reason i can see. Any thoughts?

Because he just hung his Nd5 and dropped the exhange on a8? Really that should be adequate reason for anyone.

Edit: Removing a bad alternative line. The above is straight forward enough.

Ok thats a reason. But surely its a bit early to resign against a player of my callibre. I mean all is not lost. I couldnt evn figure out why he resigned
