I suggest you consult : -

E.I.01A. Laws of Chess.
"Article 5.2 The game is drawn when the player to move has no legal move and his king is not in check. The game is said to end in `stalemate`. This immediately ends the game, provided that the move producing the stalemate position was legal."

Ok. I'll give you that shoulder. Come on over and cry; You didn't win, but you think you deserved it. Let it go, come on boy, it'll be over tomorrow.

Part of the skill of the game is being able to checkmate your opponent's king and not get into stalemate. Your opponent will also use skill to get their opponent to cause a stalemate when they realised they have a bad position.
I think this adds to the quality of the game, rather than diminishes it.

If he cant move he should lose. I was better than he but we drawed on a silly rule. I WANTED TO WIN!!!!!! ...sigh...π:'(
edit: yes, i do know what castling is
You can take the position that you played better if that makes you feel better, but the fact is that in the case of games, the measure of success is defined by the rules. For example, in soccer, the goal is to score more goals then the other team, not to "play better."
The goal of a chess game is to mate your opponent or have him resign. You failed to achieve that goal.
