I read that in prison black convicts play a non-racist form of chess where black moves first and the black square goes to the right when setting up the board.
Sounds like some childish nonsense to me.

when i was about 13-15 years old or close to it
i made a chess set out of dr pepper and 7up bottles
got a nifty lil glass cutter thingie for christmas
dr pepper and 7up bottles were the exact same size, just different color green
when i cut em up and glued em together and used a checkerboard throw rug and gave it to my best friend
when i was in boot camp i heard that he had hung himself when he was in jail
i hadn't talked to him in three years
