A lot of the time, I am forced to play it to the cold bitter end. Sometimes I get a resign a few moves before that stage.
Personally, I resign when a chimpanzee could beat me, I dont feel the need to wait a year before the death sentence I know is coming to come.
I wish more people would resign when I trap their queen, and they have no counterplay, but what r u going to do?
I've got a game going on where the guy not only continued playing, but even offered me a draw (?!) after I successfully forced simplification into a K and pawns, two of them connected, vs. lone king endgame, and is still playing on after I have just queened one of them without even having to sac any of the extra pawns. I think I'll queen the other two just to make the point. Or maybe promote 'em to knights... 🙂

Originally posted by adjewhat a shame indeed. He was so close. Instead of Bb2, the simple knight maneuver would win (with forced black moves): 81.Nd4 Ka1 82.Nb5 Ka2 83.Nc3+ Ka1 Bb2#.

This is the guy who said "I think we're equal" the move before trading off the last pieces, leaving me with four connected pawns versus his one.

So if I blundered into a stalemate (or worse, a 50 move) with N&B, I just KNOW he'd say "see, I told you this position was a draw!" And I really don't need a murder rap... 😲
(note to any fbi agents: kidding about the murder thing!)

Out of interest, now the game is over, could I see the game?
That is if you don't mind your opponent disclosed. 🙂 Or you could just post the PGN with the opponent's name hidden.
Cheers, Lau
