what do you guys think of these wooden chess pieces i bought on ebay?

Nice. A master told me that the better your chess set is the better you will play. I'm not sure I believe him though because he was selling books & equpment at a tournament when he said it.😀

A very nice set. Lots of detail in the knight, and the spare queens are a nice touch.

You got your money's worth if for 100-150 bucks. The set looks is an ebonized set with felt pads and is probably worth hundred bucks. The cases are probably worth between 50 and 100. It looks like you might have something close to this set though which is about 200 bucks.
