On the little-used "Help" forum there is a post from Mythrir suggesting IM31 phoned him, shocked, to ask why he couldn't log in at RHP.
I do hope that, irrespective of how "overwhelming" the evidence against him was, that he was properly informed before the decision was made public. And given plenty of chance to explain himself before the axe fell.

No one else? Really? Seems odd you get hundreds of posts about whether Exy or No1 has the higher principles, but only two about whether the guy we are all supposed to be talking about got a right to defend himself.
Hmm...

murders get a chance to defend themselves, why not Ironman?
It wasn't me? I was framed? The DNA doesn't match? The point of the prosecution is to present evidence. The point of the defense is to make it not credible.
The evidence is in, IronMan31 matched a computer in over 90% of his moves. I know, we'll put him in a cell with a computer and 2 armed guards watching him. He'll play 100 games over whatever period of time it takes, and if he retains the same winning/matchup rate as he's always had, then he has given reasonable doubt. There isn't anything he can say to change the evidence

I can think of a couple of things
OTB RECORDS
His Rating
His other CC chess site Rating
several things which could be checked out and haven't
I feel sorry for the people that leave the site; simply because they were completely duped by an engine-user.

Edit: it would have made the job a lot easier if he was a prick, but he isn't.
Originally posted by tmetzlerIt is pretty public knowledge that Ironman31 was a reincarnation of Edmond Dantes, were those games also analysed and taken into account?

I'd be curious to know if he only started to use the engine as IM31, knowing that one day he might be busted, as some sort of revenge against being timed-out and leaving the site before.
I know it won't influence the outcome of the evidence against IM31 but it would go a long way to help understand the psychology behind it.
