I guess two straight cuts (through the diagonals) = four congruent AAT's 🙂.

EDIT: Just saw it's not the minimum number of cuts but the minimum number of AAT's... Hmmm, there has to be a way to make three...
I'll think a bit more and hopefully, I'll come with an answer.

Apologies for this utter stipidity, diagonal of asquare intersect at 90 degrees angle so no AATs are formed.
