Eels crowd often together into a swarming mass of tails. Why?

Because their heads and tails look the same.

No, not why they look like a mass of tails, why do they crowd together?

Is it similar to the reason why migratory birds fly in a V pattern? Because the resistance is lessened for those eels on the inside of the mass of tails?

Yep, eels like darkness and even though they hate each other, the still crows together to shade one another.

    Very Good!

    Quite right.

They'll enjoy the darkness of my seedy underbelly whilst covered in a delightful japanese BBQ sauce.
