Petals around the rose is the name of a game (or a puzzle) which is not so easy to solve. Here's the URL for more information about this game (or puzzle):

I got a hint through google, then figured it out.
I can give one hint aside from the three you get in the game itself. The hint is crucial to solving the puzzle, but the hint is just something that is mentioned in the game itself. Though the link above misleads you into thinking it's not important.
The hint i can give is not the hint i found.
PS without the hint i'd probabely still be stuck.
Right. Curse you all 😉. I figured it out on the first roll, but it took me about 20 minutes, because ''petals around the rose'' suggests modular arithmetic and the ''She loves me, she loves me not'' thing rather than the really silly thing which, though I don't know it, I assume is the answer as it always works.
Now I just feel thick 😠😛😏

However, I was browsing the thread list of this forum and saw the thread, and BLAMO a theory came to me.
So, I got it on the first 'guess,' after that.
Cool puzzle.
