this doesn't work if the king goes along the back rank moves his pawn and then proceeds to controll the queening square since the bishop is the wrong color.

Bishop to d6 then instead of a5. It's still the same idea to block the black king so he cant reach b7 or b8.

but then he goes to the center and gets into the square of the pawn. your anwers are both right to a5 when he goes to the center and d6 when his king goes to d8.

the correct move is bishop to b4 disabling the black king of capturing the white pawn while at the same time maintaining hold of the d2 square making it impossible for black to queen
