One day a man robbed another man of all his money. The officer in the village called all the suspects together and gave them all a stick.

"Overnight" he said "the guilty persons stick will grow 1 inch in length, tommorow when these sticks come back we will now who did it"

The next morning all the suspects were together with there sticks which were all the same size. However, one was shorter than the rest. The owner of that stick was locked up for commiting the crime. Later that day he confessed for the crime and gave back all the money.

How did he know he did it?🙄🙂😛😛😛

Mr Guilty was concerned thatthe power of magic would show he was indeed guilty of the crime, so, rather than measuring his stick and only acting if the stick had miraculously grown overnight, he rashly cut an inch off, hence having a stick shorter than anyone elses. The poor fool, he would hae gotten away with it!!!!

Yeah, that's the only possible explanation, right? 🙄

actually, john napier (or another mathematician) did something like that. there were repeated thefts of objects from his tool shed. he then took a chicken and rubbed it in black ashes. he arranged his workers in a line. he said that each one should go into the shed with the "magic chicken" and rub his hands on it. the magic would tell who was guilty.

9 workers after doing this had black hands from rubbing it. the guilty one was afraid of the magic, so he did not rub it, proving him guilty
