    y does it have to be a polar bear- it could be a brown bear that someone mislaid and with spending time in a cold plce he wants to eat somthinl like the gun- just because it is more probable that its a polar bear it does not have to be

    here is a similar problem with a slightly different solution set:
    a traveller walks one km south and sees a bear, then runs five km east. he then goes one km north and is back at his camp.
    (a) what color is the bear, in all likelihood?
    (b) on how many points on the earth's surface could this situation occur?
    explan your reasoning.
    you might add why the probability of the occurrence of this scenario is extremely low.
