A McDonalds' hamburger. At first it is so bad for you that you shouldn't eat it at all. BY the end, you are feeling strange and different. If you remove all the crap in the burger, then many people would love to eat it.

Mm, the closest I can think of to an answer is:

Incredible.

I, my worst enemy at the beginning. Remove the Incr and it's edible, but most people ordinarily eat things that are edible, rather than love to particularly. And something Incredible is usually strange and different, although this far from exactly synonymous.

Close?!? Or in need of more clues?! Or, just the answer . . .
