I'm not saying Qa5 is wrong, just that there are four moves other than Bc5 that stop Qb6. (They are all rook moves).

but you claimed that Qa5 was wrong because there was at least 4 moves that stopped the mate which is wrong...

just admit that my answer is correct or refute it and show me the error of my ways....

you couldn't do it so why not congratulate me for achieving something you couldn't do.

Qa5 Bc5 Qa1 was OK. But to say you have solved the puzzle you also need to find mating moves for these:

Qa5 Rd6
Qa5 Re6
Qa5 Rd5
Qa5 Re5

Any other move Qb6 will be mate as you said.

Sorry, I've seen two more that stop Qb6 being mate:

Qa5 Be7
Qa5 Bd6

Your answer is not thorough enough. You need to show how White defeats all possible Black defenses.

1. Qa5! puts up 4 mate threats: 2. Qxb4 2. Qd5 2. Qe5 and 2. Nf5.
Each of Black's pieces is protecting exactly one of these squares. However since the White queen now blocks the Black a6-pawn, Black gets into Zugzwang. If he decided to move any of his rooks up, he will block a bishops diagonal (or lose the rook with mate on 5th rank of course). And if he moves a Bishop he will either block the rook-file or will stop protecting the above mentioned squares (e.g. 1. ... Bh6). In all cases 1 of the 4 mating squares will be left unprotected.
And last but not least: If Black moves 1. ... Bc5 then he blocks the King's escape square and 2. Qa1 mate.

1. Qa5 Bd7(d6) 2. Qd5 mate
1. ... Be7(e6) 2. Qe5 mate
1. ... Rd7(e6) 2. Nf5 mate
1. ... Re7(d6) 2. Qxb4 mate
1. ... Bc5 2. Qa1 mate

I never said Qa5 was not correct, I just said that you hadn't fully explained why it was correct. Even I had trouble seeing every move black could make in response.
