Yeah great! (Too bad that I just had a higher rating the last 30 days) 😉
But most of the time the mini-tournies are a boost to the rating, because now you have a real opportunity vs "just meat" in the "big" tournies.

i hear ya... i was the first one to join the 1250-1274 bracket this morning at a rating of 1260. since then i've gone 5 for 6, rating's currently at 1290, with two more wins a couple moves away... knock on wood...

...make that 7 for 8, with a brand new 1319 rating...

i loveeeeee the mini banded tourneys...

but i also had the problem of just attaining my highest rating ever on this site, and so i had to enter a tournament with players that are probably better than me...
well right now it looks like i'll have a fighting chance since i am currently the highest rated one in the list...

but i was thinking, how great would it be if your average rating over the last 30 days was used to enter the tournaments, instead of your highest rating...... might make for a more even tourney competition... even though it would probably start some other problem.

just thought i would throw it out there and see if anyone agreed

We are even in oud matches in the past, but we do have some players in our group rated 1500 once...

Good idea, the average of the last 30 days.

Ditto...the banded tourneys give you a chance to play fair games against people roughly your own skill level, and a possibility to up the number of moves a month, making MAP a even harder competition.

Hi Russ, just to let you know that you are doing a very good job of introducing the mini bands tournaments. In this way no can complain that they have no chances of winning.
