Most tourneys are 2 AND 1.

I don't think this rule makes sense. It forces you to play on and fight for a win.

And, it doesn't make sense that three draws is equal to 1 win and 2 losses.

    Is this an anti-collusion rule?

    Is there another justification?

No. Most tourneys are 1 and 1/2, arn't they?

The way it is is fine. I don't think its to prevent collusion or anything like that, its just how the admin decided to do it.

I guess you're right they are 1 and a 1/2, but that is a two to one ratio as oppossed to a 3 to 1 ratio on RHP.

    Why is it different here?

    i think best is 2.0000001 for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss.

chess does suffer from a draw problem ... but no where near as bad as soccer/football ... and so the solution does not need to be so extreme.

I disagree, RHP tournies are more like football tournies than chess. It should be 1 for a win, 0.5 for a draw.

    Yes,but this is chess.

I agree that points should be counted like in official tournaments.

On other sites points are counted 1 for a win and 1/2 for a draw aswell.

Perhaps it's because they feel one win should be worth more than two draws?

It's just to encourage attacking play, same as in football.

I don't see the problem, myself. Both systems are fair, and as long as you know the rules it doesn't matter.
