The Bird's opening tournament is supposed to start today, and seeing as there is at the moment 157 participants, I was wondering how an odd number of participants is handled in a tournament?

Does some lucky guy/gall get a free pass to the next round? Or do we simply postpone the start of the tournament untill someone new enters, or someone drops out?
