    It is when a top player plays a lower player, keeping the better players for the next rounds, really its an easy passage for the special players to get through lol

    From the Help section:

    Pairing
    This may either be 'Original' or 'Random'. In a 'Random' tournament players are allocated between groups randomly. In an 'Original' tournament players are distributed by rating between the groups so the best rated players do no meet until later rounds.

    Sort the tournament into descending rating order, that is the top seed is 1 and the bottom seed is X where X is the size of the tournament.

    Pair the players up so that the top half plays the bottom half. For example with 32 players;

    1 plays 17
    2 plays 18
    .....
    16 plays 32

    That's original pairing.
