provisional players

how is it that a provisional player can enter a grouped banded tournament? one player started at 1200 and now he is at 1600. how is that fair to the 1200 rated players? This sucks

i was wondering the same thing not so long ago.

any answers anyone?

True. I think a script should be implemented that provisional rated players are automatically kicked out of tournaments with a rating limit.
Or taken care of by the tournament mods when they'll be around..

I am in favor of this as well. I still feel bad about my one tournament win, a tournament I joined during my first weekend on the site without even noticing the rating group it was intended for.

That just goes to show you that life is not fair, haha!

in one of my tourneys there was a player that was a provisional 1250 in a 1200 and lower tourney for a start and he then rose to 1365 so that kinda wasnt fair either lol
