Last month, I had to fly back to Missouri to take care of some family business, and ended up timing out all my games and free-falling about 350 ratings points. Since Russ instituted the Tournament Entry Rating, I'm able to join banded tournaments very near where I was before my sabbatical, instead of having to enter lower rated tournaments and being accused of "sandbagging". This should enable me to regain my deficit relatively quickly.
So thanks Russ, for this excellent feature!
