Tournaments for rubbish players

Sometimes it can be a little difficult for lower ability players, such as myself, whose ratings are below 1000 to get a decent game against a player of similar ability.
Would it be possible to have a tournament or two just for players of such monumental chess acumen?

It's a week that Eta banded 1000-1199 is open and doesn't have enough entrants to start.
I always see lower players complaining in this forum that there aren't tournys for them, and when they have one they don't enter it..........

I would like to enter too, although my rating is about 1200 I am crap 😉

I've just joined (my flatmate has been a member for a few months) and I have not subscribed for this very reason, it seems the site is more concerned with the elite members.

I want to get in on that eta banded too though Im a bit too high for it, who cares :-) Site isnt concerned only for elite members, look at all the tournaments I was too high to join this past week. The main problem with those tournaments with ratings limitations is getting them filled up. Im shocked to see not a single open tournament, wow.

Gutted, tuornament I have been waiting for and it;s full before I get a chance to apply. Can we have these tournaments happening on a weekly basis or at least have a decent number of entrants?

Take a look at the tournaments page and you will see that[b] in September only (!!!) 29 tournys has been started ,it makes an aver ...[text shortened]... ve to subscribe and then message Russ asking to start such tournaments,he'll certainly do it.

As another thought, perhaps re-categorize the tourneys to be more like those in real life. "U1600", "U1400" etc. You can enter higher than your rating, but not lower.

That would give people more flexibility in entering tourneys if they were willing to play some tougher games.
