Quebec flag

None of what you've said change my mind a bit.
I'd like to put the Québec flag beside my name
because it represent who I am. Does it bother you?
But even it does, I don't really care.
I only hope that this site will give us back our flag.

There's also the question of whether the flags are really accurate anyway.

I was very tempted to change mine to Seychelles, just to avoid all the anti-US sentiment. Somehow, the average member that isn't from the states pictures George Bush when he sees the american flag and has to make some ignorant pigheaded comment in each chess game.

I wonder how many people do similarly, or for different reasons. I mean, do you really think there are 8 people from Tokelau on RHP, when the country's population is 1k?

It doesn't bother me, one way or the other whether Quebec is allowed their flag at RHP but I guess the admin have to draw the line somewhere.

i could not care less... And I have a strange feeling that is what happened. Some redneck probably complained and this is where we are.

I just want to hear the truth from the person who actually took the flag away. If I am told that we cannot have a Québec flag because we are not a country, I would find it very unfair and I will ask the owner of this site to remove every flag that is not a country. I know, i feel bad complaining about a small icon that appears on a cpu screen, but that's just the way i feel. I AM NOT CANADIAN. Je suis québecois.

This is my proposal:

Let's bring all flags representing countries that are member of UN, or FIDE, perhaps IOC too, as a flag choice at RHP.

Why? So we can avoid these meaningless and eternal discussions.
First define a rule, and then stick to it.

The flag can mean nationality, or it can be the location of the player, or neither, as is the case with the Antartican flag.

Ah, well, I like flags. And coats of arms. I'm geeky that way.

As for your second point: not even that is certain. I know one guy who is (or at least used to be) stationed at the pole. He might be here.
