Greene said the radiation comes from just outside the event horizon. Watch the video yourself. That is what he meant when he said it comes "from" a black hole. He didn't mean "from" literally. Radiation cannot escape a black hole.

You are back to square 1.
How would matter inside the black hole evaporate and convert into radiation outside the event horizon? If you cannot explain that then the radiation is probably from matter being pulled toward the event horizon of the BH.
