      ? Losing the e8 knight, since Black can't take back with the rook.

        ?? Now the only choice is to give up both the other Knight and the Rook to prevent mate.
        • 19. Bf4d6 Kf8g8
          ?? White could have played Re7, but after Bxe7+ Ke8 and Bxb4+ White is up by a landslide. 19...Kg8 is mate in one.
