My Move - You Die!

I picked up this for 20p. in a junk shop.


The Eagle comic from October 1982.

Inside is a chess story portrayed using pictures and voice bubbles.

Here it is….(I've left out a dozen pictures but you will get the drift of it.)


The played by phone and every game ended in a draw.


Marvin King’s wife was fed up with him playing chess all day.


and….


…a fierce argument erupted.


The argument put Marvin off his game and he blundered into a lost game.


But before the game could finish Marvin had a heart attack and died.


Peter King cannot believe it.


So Peter finds a medium, Madame Valda, to contact Marvin so he can finish the game....


....and Marvin duly appears…


…and gives Peter a warning.


Marvin takes over the medium’s body and she…


….kills Peter.


and the punch line.
