Dariusz Świercz is a Polish chess Grandmaster (GM) and the 2011 World Junior Chess Champion. He was born in Tarnowskie Góry, Poland on 31 May 1994, and quickly developed a proficiency for chess. He achieved his Grandmaster status at age 14, making him one of the youngest to ever hold this title.
Świercz has achieved many victories throughout his career. Some of his accomplishments include victory at the European Youth Chess Championship category U10 in 2004 and winning the U14 category in 2008. In 2011, he won the World Junior Chess Championship, after which he was awarded the GM title by FIDE. His victories on the global stage continued in 2016, as he won the World Open tournament in the United States.
