Kıvanç Haznedaroğlu is a notable Turkish chess grandmaster (GM). Born on October 2, 1978, in Istanbul, Turkey, his passion for chess began at an early age. He won the Turkish Youth Chess Championship in 1995 and represented his country in the World Youth Chess Championship the following year. He also competed in several other global tournaments, including the European Youth Chess Championship numerous times.
Haznedaroğlu received his international master (IM) title in 2005 and was awarded the prestigious grandmaster (GM) title in 2008. He is considered one of Turkey's top chess players and has accumulated numerous accomplishments throughout his career.
In team and club competitions, Haznedaroğlu has represented Turkey in many Chess Olympiads, including the 37th to 40th Olympiads. He also played for Turkish clubs Tarsus Zeka Chess Club, Adana Truva Chess Club and Istanbul Pera Sports Club in the European Club Cup (ECC) events.
Apart from being a player, Haznedaroglu also works as a chess trainer. He holds a FIDE Trainer (FT) (2018) credential. However, his highest recorded rating, as per the FIDE (International Chess Federation), is 2511 in November 2010.
