Łukasz Jarmuła is a Polish chess player who holds the title of Grandmaster (GM), which he achieved in 2014. Born on 9 May 1984 in Kraków, Poland, he was introduced to chess at an early age by his father, who himself was an international master in chess.
Jarmuła won multiple Polish junior championships, and in 2005, he won the Polish men's championship for blitz chess. Internationally, he represented his country in various team competitions, including the 2008 European Team Chess Championships where Poland scored sixth under his performance. By 2009, Jarmuła was awarded the International Master (IM) title and achieved the GM title in 2014.
Jarmuła has also participated in many significant Polish team championships, like the Polish Team Chess Championship and the Polish Team Chess Cup.
In academia, he holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Jagiellonian University, where he presented a thesis focusing on designing and learning artificial neural networks to solve certain chess problems.
