Michał Matuszewski is a Polish chess player who holds the prestigious title of International Grandmaster (GM). He was born on January 8, 1980, in Warsaw, and gravitated toward chess at a young age. Matuszewski began competing in tournaments as a teenager and his skill level quickly escalated.
In 1996 and 1998, Matuszewski represented Poland at the U18 Chess Olympiad. He has won numerous championships and tournaments, including the Warsaw Championship and the Polish U20 Chess Championship. Matuszewski earned the FIDE Master (FM) title in 1996 and was conferred the International Master (IM) title in 1998. In 2005, he achieved the title of Grandmaster - the highest accolade in competitive chess.
