Michał Olszewski is a Polish chess Grandmaster and a two-time Polish Chess Champion. He gained his Grandmaster title in 2002, marking him as a player of exceptional skill.
Olszewski was born on 9 May 1984 in Działdowo, Poland. He started his chess career early, receiving the title of International Master in 2000 and becoming Polish Junior Champion in 2001. In 2002, he went on to become the World Junior Vice Champion.
In 2006, he won the Polish Blitz Championship. His success continued the next year when he became the Polish Chess Champion, a title he won again in 2013.
Apart from individual championships, he's also participated in team tournaments. Since 2001, he has been playing in Polish Team Chess Championships, winning numerous individual and team awards. In 2012, he debuted in the national team during the Istanbul Chess Olympics. He represented Poland twice during European Team Chess Championships - in 2013 and 2017.
Michał Olszewski not only excels in traditional chess but also in chess variations like blitz and rapid chess. His highest world ranking was 93rd in 2013.
