Vasile Sănduleac is a Moldovan International Chess Grandmaster. He was born in Chisinau, Moldova on April 6, 1973. He was first awarded the title of FIDE (The International Chess Federation) master in 1992, later earning the International Master title in 1993. In 2010, he became a FIDE senior trainer.
He has participated in a number of international chess tournaments, building an impressive career with noteworthy victories. Highlights include winning the Ionescu Memorial in Bucharest in 1992 and the Albena open tournament in 1997. He also won the inaugural Moldovan championships in 1997 and again in 2006.
In team chess, Vasile Sănduleac has been a regular participant representing Moldova in the European Team Chess Championships since 1999. He has also played for the Moldovan team at the Chess Olympiad in various years.
An influential figure in the world of chess, he served as the chairman of the trainers' commission of the Moldovan Chess Federation. Outside of his competitive career, he has contributed to the chess community by training aspiring players.
