Trần Tuấn Minh (Globally known as Tuấn Minh Trần) is a Vietnamese chess player, who was awarded the title of Grandmaster by FIDE, the international chess federation. He was born in Hanoi, Vietnam on 26th October 1992.
Trần Tuấn Minh had his first notable chess achievements in his youth, earning the titles FIDE Master and International Master at an early age.
In July 2011, he achieved one of his major early successes by winning the Vietnamese Chess Championship with a score of 8.5 points from 11 games, and he was only 18 at the time.
Trần Tuấn Minh became an International Master in 2012 and a FIDE Chess Grandmaster in 2017, after attending multiple minor and major chess competitions.
Trần Tuấn Minh showed impressive performances in several international tournaments. He came in the third position in Asian Cities Chess Championship in 2014, won the gold medal in the Asian Chess Championship for university students in 2016, became a runner up in the 9th HDBank International Chess Open in 2019.
Even though Trần Tuấn Minh is not a professional chess player, and he mainly play chess as a hobby. He is one of the best chess players in Vietnam and has a high international ranking. He combines his passion for chess with his university studies. He is a student at the Hanoi National University of Education.
