Chess Terms : Light-Square Bishop Explained
The Light-Square Bishop is a term in chess that refers to the bishop piece which begins the game on one of the light-colored squares. There are two bishops per each player in a chess game, one that begins on a light-colored square, and one that starts on a dark-colored square. The movement of the bishop is limited to diagonal paths, therefore, the Light-Square Bishop can only move on light-colored squares for the entirety of the game.
