And it used to be that most chess books used it too.

It's so clear that the boards and pieces can be smaller and you can still make it out.

Yes, but not right now - nearly there.

Set and board choices will be reflected everywhere.


*unless a variant game needs a "fairy" piece (which is none right now) in which case one set is used, and preference is ignored.
