Rather than try to pin that label on another clan leader, all he had to do was look in the mirror.

I have recently heard that in OTB play this strategy is also used -- i.e., the throwing of enough rated games to artificially lower one's rating so that a strong player can enter a tournament in a lower category and "punch above their weight."
But I suppose this whole discussion amounts to gentlemen muttering and snapping their newspapers at each other across the boulevard as a pleasant pastime.
