Each clan would have 5 volunteers play in the Clan League - if the clan was interested. Its just more games. It has nothing to do with the table. It would mean a few more game for those 5 players only.

There are 5 boards - U2000, U1800, U1600, U1400, U1200

Anyone in your clan could play on the U2000 board - everyon ...[text shortened]... - are clans interested in maybe another competition in 2027, to go along with the season long title.

I guess it would have to be tournament entry rating to determine under whatever. It's harder to manipulate. Not that people would want to cheat... 😃

The only issue is where everyone is really rated, what their true playing strength is which is hard to determine. This is why I wanted the Clan Challenge ratings to be separate from Club, Tournament, and Private Games ratings.

I for one am not at my real playing strength as many of you know, as I play a crap load of games. I agree with Michael except I think there are many player 200 or 300 points below their true rating.

We would first have to establish where every one's TRUE RATING is at.

When we stop being more focused with winning than with playing chess with our friends, everything becomes much more fun.

There is no prize for winning. There is no punishment for losing.

I play in over-the-board tournaments here in Madison and none of my friends or family ever knows if I win or lose games.

I play, I come home and make dinner, I go back to work on Monday. If winning was the point, there wouldn't be 300 players aged 5-85 at the tournaments, when only 10 have a realistic chance to win it.

It's fun to play chess. It's fun to play new opponents and share a word or two. Share a board and a friendly chess experience.

Torn Entry Rating is not accurate, I know mine for one is not!!!!

I understand we have to start from somewhere but many players Entry for tournaments are not accurate at all.

Go for it, I don't want to Play by tournament entry rating as many are not accurate, after 20 years play here I know. My entry rating is not the only one incorrect many are not correct.

It isn't a matter of arguing it is a matter of FAIR PLAY!!!!

VR I think I have a history now of being open to all ideas here in forum discussion.

You see my ideas. I am more than willing to read and promote your ideas. But lets get them down and lets play chess. If your idea is let's talk about this for weeks and months and argue and then lets get all the clan leaders to argue and vote and then we can play chess sometime next fall or winter - I think we can do better.

Yes there is no way to get a true clan rating unless the overloads create a new system where we have a site rating and a separate clan rating. And then we all play clan games for a year so we have a true clan rating. Then we can do a Clan League and a Clan Cup in 2028 or beyond.

Or ... we can use TER and let's play chess.

You can shout from the mountaintop it is not a fair rating for time eternal, and I do not disagree. I am not arguing with you. I am saying it does not matter.

I just think if we create a Clan League and a Clan Cup we will grow the clan feature. That is my goal. I say it again and again - my goal is to grow the clan feature.

It is not "fair" matches - whatever that even means. It is not winning,

The city of Halifax is probably one of the most interesting places to visit in Nova Scotia. It really feels like you are in a big town.

Great attractions, great music, great restaurants, great shopping, great museums and great people all await you in this big town with a big heart.

The population of the Halifax Regional Municipality is estimated to be approximately 512,000 to 517,000 in 2025. Following a period of rapid growth, the city continues to expand, driven by international migration. Halifax surpassed the 500,000 mark in 2024 and remains one of Canada's faster-growing cities.

A nice place to visit but best to take tour buses as the city is very congested with Traffic, unfortunately the city planners weren't thinking there would be all this traffic back in the 1900's. It also effected our Medicare which they are working on resolving. I believe cranes I've seen are at an all time high.

I will stop trying to grow the clan feature. I will never talk about this again. The overloads can do what they want - 15 months of trying to be an advocate for the clan feature is enough for me.

You are not suppose to keep any private conversations and post them on the forum site if those were P.M.'s. Just so you know for another Time. If it was something said in forums then it would be ok, if it was so be it. I still don't know what it has to do with promoting the clans???? Anyway that isn't even important.

Growing a site is getting more people on it, not the same People doing it a different way. I can't make my self any more clear than that.

I Don't know what that sermon was all about, I just said I don't see how using the same people to do something a different way is growing the site. Perhaps you can explain how you figure that will work?

We have been trying to improve the Clan Challenges now for many years before you even came along. I don't know that doing it a different way with the same players is going to help much.
