I remember in the 'old days' some clans (don't remember who) always rotated 4 or 5 players in and out, effectively having a pool of 25 😯

I have seen absolutely no evidence of this nowadays .. it all feels a lot 'cleaner' and friendlier 🤝
Perhaps if you said who you were back then it might help with many things!

I don't recall any of that going on.

I thought Widget did well for several years they would be neck and neck with us throughout most of the year, just kind of fizzled out at the end drive. It is hard to keep the same pace up all year. Then every Clan will run into slumps at times. People get sick, personal issues, as a Clan Leader I am sure you've seen it all.

EDIT: I believe the year I joined in 2006 IVV finished first. I wasn't playing with any clan at that time.

now their drink has been goosed
but I'm starting to believe in the DP clan

Have to say chapeau! to all the clan leaders, especially those who've been on the first 2 pages for a long time .... Widget did a great job in the early days but, as you say, sustaining it long term is a big ask ... It will be even harder when we come out of lockdown .... and it will be fishing season for me soon 😀
