Like many of us, I grew up with Deep Purple and coincidently only last week I sat up last listening to Highway Star from Made in Japan.

Lord was classically trained (as were many rock artists of his time) and his passing underlines for me why music of his generation was of such quality.

Who else is a Purple fan here?
