Apparently some conservative leaning southern Cal lawmakers are fed up with being dictated to by liberals who dominate the state government and are using this 4rth of July celebration to begin talking about the possibility of 13 conservative leaning counties to secede from California.
I have to say, I have considered conservative states like Texas possibly doing this someday as they are dicated to in a similar fashion by the federal government but not counties in a state. I do realize that this is probably just hype but it is nonetheless interesting to consider. Should they be allowed to do so?

As for Texas: as it turns out, by succeeding they would actually lose money.
But maybe if Rick Perry runs for president, they'll stick around.

Originally posted by bill718Actually, liberals did discuss a Northern California break from Southern California about 20 years ago, before they started winning statewide elections regularly. One of the proposals involved a cutoff point at San Luis Obispo.
