At least they used a new excuse, it wasn't because they wanted everyone to be the same, they simply "forgot."
They better hope none of the students they overlooked were black or they will most certainly get sued.
Probably a pretty safe bet there were very few.
Another possibility is that they didn't "overlook" the black students that qualified and they did get a notice in time.
