Since the US death doll passed 1,000 in early September, 2004, that means another 500 American troops have lost their lives in 6 months; an average of 83 per months. This compares to the average of 55 per month in the year and a half preceding. Contrary to the propaganda from the Bush administration the situation is getting worse, not better.

Are but it is now a true democracy. The iraq's can vote out USA or their own governers if they are not happy about the security situation.

They might even be able to sue the people who destroyed their electric and water supplies as well.

Makes your heart just sing for joy, eh, marauder?

Just think. If enough die, you might have a chance of being right in thinking that freedom is worthless.

It is worthless, isn't it? If not, then what does it cost?

Let me guess. It is worth anything but your ego. When you take a side, you take it forever? That is what it seems like. You and several others here who were 'born to be princes of the realm' and never say a word of thanks for all those who died so you can pretend to be a prince.

The number of American military personnel who have been killed in Iraq has passed 1,500, according to totals released by the Pentagon.
The 1,502 dead include those killed in accidents as well as combat since the war in Iraq began nearly two years ago.

More than 1500 US military personnel have been killed in Iraq
Just over three-quarters of the fatalities were classified as killed in action.

In the region of 11,000 Americans have been wounded. Of those, about half returned to duty.

The overall trend in American casualties is difficult to discern.

There were big spikes in January - 107 dead - and November - 137 dead.

But since the elections in January the numbers seem to be heading back down. February saw 58 fatalities.

The Pentagon argues that is because the insurgency is losing momentum in the wake of Iraq's experiment with democracy.

And it says counter-insurgency operations are having an effect.

Pentagon spokesman Larry Di Rita said on Thursday: "The intelligence is without question getting better. There's no question we have apprehended or killed an enormous number of insurgents, so we may well be seeing people who are less skilled at what they're doing."
