The SCOTUS have decided that it was not with in the presidents powers to randomly tax US buyers of foreign goods by labeling the tax as emergency protective tariffs
So what happens now, cast your votes
A) The president ignores the ruling of the court, they will find a way to ignore the SCOTUS
B) Money is payed back to consumers who have experienced the inflationary effects of import taxes
C) Money is returned to US corporations, who have the import tax recipes, but who to their ability passed on the bill
D) it was a mistake, no one is accountable, lessons was learned but goodbye money
Z) full accountability, it was stupid, Sorry we know it was all just a hoax for views and the lols, including a handwritten excuse for everybody who spend money on implementing new rules for nothing, IT, and job loss in various countries and industries. We will pay you back.
My guess is
A) 60%
C) 39%
Last percent goes somewhere else but for sure not to Z
What is your vote for the outcome?
Oh, and assume the money is returned, what to do with the growing fiscal deficit.
The money was used for buttering the donor class.
My guess is that though the deficit increases, financial markets will still prefer the SCOTUS standing on the rule of law and value that. It might stem the continuous glide of dollar valuation. That’s another thing to vote on, and we can bet too.
@Scheel saidAs Kavanaugh pointed out it will be a difficult process.

My guess: All of the money goes to lawyers fighting process after process, some of which will escalate up to the Supreme Court.
@Scheel said10% is spent on lawyers, and once they claw the money back they spend the remaining 90% on stock buybacks.

@Scheel saidThe SCOTUS sent the case back to the Court of International Trade to act in accordance with the opinion. Since the ruling is that the President never had any legal authority to impose those tariffs, I would expect that court to issue an injunction ordering refunds. There were already over a 1,000 cases filed in the CIT seeking refunds if the IEEPA tariffs were found unlawful, so it's likely those litigants will get refund orders first. https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/what-happens-to-billions-in-tariff-money-already-paid-supreme-court-leaves-refunds-unsettled/ar-AA1WL7JI?ocid=BingNewsSerp

Needless to say, this administration will fight against refunds but I don't see how they win given the scope of the SCOTUS' ruling.
@AThousandYoung saidWill all officlas follow suite? I thought there was an oath on the office?
What is Trump just ignores SCOTUS?
As Andrew Jackson supposedly said,
"[They have] made [their] decision; now let [them] enforce it"

@no1marauder saidSo what happens if Trump ignores SCOTUS? What enforcement is there?

@no1marauder saidWhat is CBP? Capitol budget Police?
CBP has already announced they aren't going to collect the IEEPA tariffs struck down by the SCOTUS, so it's a moot point.
