On TV, there is not much of an alternative. I don't agree with everything on Fox, but it seems a large part of the country certainly does.

That's fairly meaningless. Does the article account for the fact Fox is the only conservative news network, and therefore has a monopoly on conservative cable news? The more liberal news networks have to compete with each other, thus splitting overall viewership between the networks.

The article also doesn't account for the fact that young Americans (who typically lean left) often get their news from the internet (such as YouTube or other websites), rather than from cable or network television, while conservatives (who are often older) aren't as inclined to new media. I, for example, do not have cable, and haven't for years. Everything I watch is through streaming video (Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, YouTube, etc.).

As of right now, CNN has 1.7 million subscribers on YouTube, while Fox News only has 440,000. The Young Turks (another liberal news organization) has over 3 million subscribers.

So while it's cute that you're trying to imply that dominating an increasingly outdated medium---due to monopolizing one specific demographic---actually means something, it really doesn't.

As an Independent I would advise against trying to rub the "Lib's" nose in Fox News or this win by Donald Trump. Please recall the last line of the 1970 movie Patton, reminding us that "all glory is fleeting" 😉

True... It is not really rubbing their noses as what they have to contend with. I am a registered Independent as well, but I am more conservative. I just don't want all the phone calls and spam that I got when I was registered as a repub. Besides I was very upset with the Establishment repubs during the last 16 years.

According to a recent study, Fox News viewers are the least informed of all cable news station viewers, and are even less informed than people who watch no news at all. Why do you think this is the case?

Yeah, had this discussion before, but the whole ratings system is outdated. The average Fox viewer is over 60, which accounts for something like 90 percent of people who even watch television anymore.

But in terms of Internet views after it's been aired, Fox is among the last. Doesn't bode well for Fox News future. CNN has similar problems by the way.
