Medical and economic pain and suffering. Isolation fatigue, fear of what the future holds, lockdowns, a stubborn virus killing thousands everyday, and a nation more deeply divided than at any time since the Civil War. I've been one of the lucky one's, but admit I can't find a lot of good news this year.

Let us hope 2021 will be better πŸ™‚

Getting rid of a toxic President is a good start.

Holding China accountable would help...

Oh ya...I forgot...we are supposed to be weak liberals... πŸ™„

So to be clear...
Do I start hating myself and whitey or what?

Seriously...I want to be a good liberal.

Guide me in the ways of self loathing and avoiding putting fault where it belongs...

I hate myself! πŸ˜”

Looks like you're doing a good enough job of it already, especially avoiding putting fault where it belongs.

It was wonderful to see us democracy triumph in the election despite sever attacks, you guys should not underestimate this. I was also very pleased to see the vote counting firm suing the Trump lawyers and bad-mouthers.

We have had a similar ideological battle for democracy in the UK over Brexit. We voted for it but still had to fight tooth and nail for four years to get it because the losers didn’t want to accept the result and wanted to overturn it. Maybe this will be the way with democracy going forward.

The one thing the US would massively benefit from is the separation of religion from politics.

EU health, safety, labour and environmental laws...

Just saying.
The UK won an economic dip, a bureaucratic nightmare and less influence. That’s the take away from 2020.

Politics aside, 2020 was bloody brilliant!

One of those years people will be talking about in 20 years time. Nobody remembers 2007.

Unfortunately the world's attention was dominated by two topics, Trump's antics and COVID. There were so many other serious issues which got swept under the rug: climate change, civil war in Syria, to mention only two.

Mhmmm... I think you’ll find many people in many countries laughing at the US president, reading his tweets and being worried about the state of US democracy.

Especially in Europe. Which we all know is the centre of the universe, best place to be, longest holidays, sexiest women and best endowed men.
Indeed. If it ain’t Europe it’s either trash or wants to be Europe.

Besides a few minor glitches (empires, 2 world wars and more genocides than Netanyahu governments), Europe can boast a proud tradition of looking down upon the rest of the planet’s peasantry.
