https://apnews.com/article/mass-killings-record-gun-violence-0174103c37756fe4d247fd15cd3bc009This year’s unrelenting bloodshed across the U.S. has led to the grimmest of milestones: The deadliest six months of mass killings recorded since at least 2006.
From Jan. 1 to June 30, the nation endured 28 mass killings, al ...[text shortened]... of violence and grief.
Six months. 181 days. 28 mass killings. 140 victims. One country.
Who is doing the shooting. Who is being shot.
Let me know, I've got the numbers.
@vivify saidIf a certain demographic were removed from the stats, and I'm not talking final solution removal, just for the sake of looking at stats.
You are one paranoid racist.
I mean here you are with the stats so you must be a fan of the stats right.
If a certain demographic were removed from the stats then we might find US shooting stats aren't that different from a lot of other countries, would it be worth examining those stats, talking about them, asking questions and looking for solutions?
While the AP article was correct about 2023 being on pace for a record breaking year, it turns out they way under reported the amount of mass shootings and deaths:
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41488081
AP reported 28 mass shootings; the BBC reports 200 by May. CNN reported 400 by July:
https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/24/politics/us-400-mass-shootings/index.html
Not sure why the AP's figures were so much lower but 2023 was vastly worse than the OP states.
@wajoma saidConservative states had more gun deaths than liberal ones. So if we removed conservatives America's stats would look way less f'd up.

@sonhouse saidSchool shootings get a lot of publicity and that is why you're talking about it here. But mass shootings are carried out overwhelmingly by another demographic and the worst place you can be is not a school but something known as a block party.
@Wajoma
What is wrong with just raising the age of gun ownership to 21 in the US? The school shooters were almost all 18 or so, able to buy guns. If they had to wait 3 years, they would have grown emotionally enough to not want to kill kids any more.
