@shavixmir saidNo it doesn’t. It fails to explain who America got to the situation in the first place.
And that tells you everything you need to know about a banana republic.

@suzianne saidIt might help but you don’t need a college education to understand the basic democratic processes.
Many Americans also believe we never went to the moon.
If we made a college education free in this country, it would go a long way towards correcting ignorance like this.
Why is the Pennsylvania team not permitting observers in when Georgia is?

@divegeester saidPA is not GA. States all have their own laws. There are federal laws, but our Constitution has left many decisions up to individual states. Maybe you should ask PA state officials why that is.

@suzianne saidRather, I think we need to increase the quality of our high school education experience. The public schools have become quite complacent about teaching civics which is something every graduate must know. They need that far more than algebra, to be honest. How many of us, in our daily lives, actually *use* the quadratic formula? But we are impacted by laws and politics every minute.

This is one of the reasons I'm for more school choice and back-pack budgeting. We need more competition in education in the US.
(Yes, yes, I know. Europeans increase quality with regulations and governance. That's not how Americans do it. We use competition. It's cultural. Both sides think their way works better.)

@shavixmir saidThe USA can now make a claim to be the most openly racist nation on Earth .
And that tells you everything you need to know about a banana republic.
We are number 1 !!!

@shavixmir
well, not quite, I think more like 69 mil but Biden so far has near a 5 MILLION vote edge over Trump, almost TWICE the popular vote difference with Hillary.
No more banana republic now.
Now we start actually dickering with senate republicans who HAVE to be sincere now that the numbers are 50/50 with Harris casting the decider.
Now things can really get done.
Like up that stupid bribe Trump gave big business.
Tax the super rich, and now we will attack Covid seriously at the federal level.
