On December 29, 2024, Jimmy Carter, ex-President, passed away. The US Flag Code states:
"The flag shall be flown at half-staff 30 days from the death of the President or a former President;"
Title 4, US Code Chapter 1, Section 7, paragraph (m)
This time period extends past inauguration day. Naturally, our POS of a soon to be President complained about this being the incredibly petty little man he is. Thoughtful people would have and did just laugh at such foolishness and comply with the law, as has been done after every other ex-President's death since the Code was enacted.
But hey, groveling before Trump is now an accepted standard practice among Republicans and the law be damned. Speaker Johnson has ordered flags to be flown at full staff at the Capitol during inauguration day in open defiance of the law to appease Trump and a slew of State Governors have chimed in with the same order so as not to hurt the rich kid's feeling by not allowing him to get his way.
Disgraceful but as I said, typical.
@no1marauder saidWorse is they take appeasing him as marching orders.

Half of our legislative branch prostrates themselves before their king.
They cannot govern on their own, they have to run to daddy to see if they can do anything to earn his favor today. Pathetic.

(d) The flag should be displayed on all days, especially on New Year's Day, January 1; Inauguration Day, January 20
@Mott-The-Hoople saidIt's displayed when it's at half-staff, moron.

@no1marauder saidI hear the flag is flying at full-staff at Mar-A-Lago. Showing such disrespect for the office of the president .... impeach him, I say, before he's even inaugurated.

@no1marauder saidI would think it could be argued that we are about to embark on a huge change in this country, and that we fly our flag in celebration.

Let's play a suzianne whataboutism and wonder if you would write this if Camel-toe were about to be sworn in. It would not be a dawning of anything except more misery, so I would not be in favor of it if she were being sworn in. Would you think it would be OK, if this person were being sworn in to run the USA?
Great research by the way. Did you ever research if a man can change into a woman, or vice versa.? I asked your sidkick Sonhouse this very question, and instead of answering it (he never did, imagine that), he wrote about gender, reproductive organs identity and a few more Woke code words.
I felt that , well, it was just pitiful. And neither he nor you are technically qualified to fill our minds with such slush.

Obviously the flag is supposed to be "displayed" on all days but displayed at half-staff in specified circumstances.
BTW, "should be" is not mandatory, but "shall" is.
@AverageJoe1 saidWe're aware you don't think any laws should apply to Donald Trump. He's above the rules the rest of us petty mortals have to obey.

Go have a nap.
More mumbling. Knee-jerk responses.
If you're waiting for misery, you don't have long to wait.
In the meantime, there's the fires in L.A. you could laugh about.
Do you know where you are, today?
