😆 that is funny!

@Duchess64 - Note that most African countries tend to be less densely populated and have lesser developed transportation links than China, making it harder to spread Covid-19.

And note, China has about 4+ times the population density as the USA so that is not the reason.

You're grasping at straws, Duchess64. No one really knows the answers except that there is more than one component to contagiousness of Sar-Cov-2 within a given population.

Also, Canada has made it a high priority to get the COVID vaccines to their Northern indigenous peoples first because the virus can spread like wildfire even in a wilderness population.

This was sadly true with the indigenous populations of the deep Amazon in Amazonia, Brazil, who have been greatly affected.

I brought forth a problem that has no obvious answer, so as make for conversation.
You responded with rude, inaccurate accusations, and answers that cannot possibly hold water.

Thanks for nothing, Duchess64

Neanderthal Genes Could Link to Severe COVID-19

October 2, 2020 -- Having Neanderthal genes could be a risk factor for developing severe COVID-19, according to a new study published in the journal Nature on Wednesday. The study is an early release that has been accepted for publication but may be edited later.

Genetic variants in a region of chromosome 3 have been linked with respiratory failure in severe COVID-19. The genetic region is nearly identical to a Neanderthal from southern Europe who lived 50,000 years ago, the study authors found.

The genetic variant was transferred to humans through interbreeding about 60,000 years ago. Now about 50% of people in South Asia and 16% of people in Europe carry this section of DNA, the study authors said.

“It is striking that the genetic heritage from Neanderthals has such tragic consequences during the current pandemic,” Svante Paabo, one of the researchers and a genomics specialist at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University in Japan, said in a statement.

The COVID-19 Host Genetics Initiative looked at more than 3,000 people, including patients hospitalized with severe COVID-19 and patients who tested positive for the virus but weren’t hospitalized. The chromosome 3 region was linked with severe infection and hospitalization.

I just read a scientific paper in a journal put out by the CDC and it seems some new research shows Chinese people may have a higher immunity to the Chinese Virus. See, because, they are, like, both Chinese.

I just hope this China Virus gets under control and does not devastate things the way that American Flu did. One difference is of course that China intentuonally let the virus out into the world. To cause the grief and death and devastation that is going on now. Chinese people in their forums laugh and mock American and Europe. The higher the death count the more they laugh.

Since Chinatown wasn't hit at all by the Wuhan virus, and China has had a ridiculously small number of deaths....................do you think the inscrutable chinee may have been working on a virus that doesn't affect them but will kill the rest of the population?
